SPEA offers graduate concentration in sustainable development

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Students in the Master of Public Affairs degree program at the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs can now pursue an academic concentration in sustainable development.

The option is available to students in the MPA program at IU Bloomington. SPEA faculty members believe it is the first sustainable development concentration offered by a university public affairs program.

“Our highly ranked School of Public and Environmental Affairs has unique strengths because of its deep expertise in both public policy and environmental science,” said Karen Hanson, the IU Bloomington provost and executive vice president. “This new graduate degree concentration will draw on those strengths and will offer outstanding opportunities for our students.”  …

Finding Economic Indicators

Here’s a site from the U.S. Census Bureau which is an excellent source for statistics on housing starts; new home sales; construction spending; total business sales; monthly retail sales; retail profits; the trade balance; manufacture shipments, inventories, orders; and the monthly wholesale trade, among other key indicators.  Charts, times series data, annual percentage changes for each indicator, and a link to an “economic indicator calendar” of release dates for other categories of data are also included.
